Halloween Costumes

Here are the Halloween Costumes the kids picked out for this year. These pictures were taken the day of the ward party. The kids were so excited to go that they were dressed and ready like 3 hours before the party! I love the costumes they picked out, they looked great!

The Pumpkin Patch

We went last week to the Pumpkin Patch for the kids to pick out their Halloween Pumpkins that they wanted to carve. They really like this particular one because of all the tractors they get to play on and they have a couple corn mazes that the kids like to go through. They had a great time.

Marcus Field Trip

Marcus had a class field trip to the Museum of Natural History. I had quite the group, every time I went to snap a picture they were all in a pose! They had a lot of fun things to look at and I had a great time with him and his friends!

Riding With the College Kids

We invited the "College Kids" over yesterday and went for a ride up the mountain. Tyler, Cassie and Lexie came with us and we had a really fun ride. Carson rode his motorcycle with Tyler who rode Darvell's motorcycle. Cassie and Lexie rode the 4wheelers. They stayed for dinner after and played with the kids. We had a really good time hanging out with them!

Constitution Day

The kids dressed up for their Constitution Day at school the middle of September. Shalise told me that she didn't know why anyone would want to wear clothes like this, because it was not a cute outfit! She was pretty funny...  I think they looked great!

Canyon with the Cousins

After Nick passes away, we spent a day in the canyon with Ben and Mindy's family. We roasted Hebrew National hot dogs, that were Nick's favorite and talked about some of our favorite memories of him. We also had smores and the kids sure enjoyed being around eachother.

Nick's Obituary

On September 11th, Nick passed away. Here is a copy of his obituary. We sure loved this good looking guy.
Our loving husband, father, son, brother and friend, Nick Gillen, passed away September 11, 2013 in Burlington, Kentucky. He was born May 24, 1980 to Darrell and Ann Gillen in Murray, Utah.

Nick grew up in Sandy, Utah. In his Freshman year, his family moved to Tulsa, OK and he graduated from Jenks High School, graduated from BYU-Idaho and Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan with a Bachelor's Degree in Facility Management.

Nick served an honorable mission in the Guatemala South Mission. He married Britta Lorraine Torgesen, for time and all eternity in the Washington DC Temple on August 19, 2003. He was a loving husband and dedicated father, being very involved in the lives of his three beautiful daughters. He served faithfully in many callings, including the Young Men's program, Counselor in the Elder's Quorum Presidency and Counselor in the Bishopric. Nick was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and was an avid gardener. He also enjoyed collecting unique and unusual items. Basketball was among his favorite sports, although he enjoyed them all. He was the life of the party with his family and was a loyal friend.

He is truly "in and through" all of us. We take comfort that he is in the care of our Heavenly Father and that families are forever.

Nick is survived by his wife, Britta, children; Makenzie, Avery and Emme, parents, siblings; Christine (Troy) Donovan, Sharon (Chris) Johnson, Heather (Brian) Chandler, Ben (Mindy) Gillen and Jake (Lilet) Gillen and 20 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roy Midland Stake Center at 4800 S. 3649 W., Roy, Utah. Visitation will be from 9-10:45 a.m. before. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.

Ben and Mindy's Kids

Ben rode in a big bike race in September and we watched Jane and Sidney for a couple days. The kids had a lot of fun with them.
