5 Siblings All In a Row

Johan was in town over Thanksgiving so he and Laura came over as well as my other siblings and for a couple hours we were all together! It was fun to have us all in the same place, doesn't happen very often. My dad came over as well so we had everyone here except my mom (who was at work) and Laura's oldest son Alex (who is on a mission). Here are some pictures:

Happy Birthday Marcus!

I can't believe Marcus is already 3! Time sure does fly when you are having fun. Marcus got a Wonder Pets cake this year, it's his absolute favorite. We had quite the drama when it was time to cut the cake, he was not happy about it at all! I think he wanted to look at it longer with all the characters on it and was devasted when we cut it all up. So I keep showing him the picture of it hoping that will make him feel better! So I guess next year we maybe should get him his own little cake that he doesn't have to share and can just play with! We got him the Wonderpets "Flyboat and characters" for one of his presents and he was SO excited. I hear him singing the theme song all day long! He was so excited for his birthday this year, he kept asking me if it was his special day. He probably thought he got a few special days because we opened presents on different days. We let him open some before we went out of town and then Nana's present came in the mail so he opened that. He loves the little school bus and red hat that Nana and Gramps gave him! Then I competely forgot about getting out the present from my parents at his birthday party so he opened that one a couple days later, it was a cute "Cars" backpack. He keeps telling me now that he's ready to go to school with Carson because he has his backpack! Marcus is such a loving little boy who adores his brother and sister. He is still quite the little comedian and always does the funniest things. We love you Marcus! Happy Birthday!! :)

My Cute Family

Thank you Mr. Fireman

It was an evenful morning in our house today... And interestingly enough, this is a Marcus story, not a Carson story. :) So lately my boys think it's pretty funny to lock bedroom doors and then close them with Shalise inside. On our main floor and upstairs this is not a big deal because we have little keys and they are easy to open. Well down in our basement, the doors have just that little hole so it's a little trickier to open. So while Carson was at school this morning, Marcus locked Shalise in our basement office and came out so he left her in there by herself. So she was crying and I was trying to get the door open with the back of a paintbrush when the paintbrush snapped in half. Why a paintbrush? I don't know, seemed like a good idea at the time... So then I went and got the Dewalt drill to get the screws out and take off the whole doorknob off. This was tricky because the doorknob was so close to the wall and of course I have no regular screwdrivers because they are all in Jake's truck... So I finally get it open and then the part that was left I could not get to unlock. I guess it's called the striker? So Jake's on the phone telling me how to do it and I for the life of me cannot get the thing to unlock. So I have Shalise in there bawling, Marcus upstairs in time out and I'm starting to panic a little cuz I can't get her out and I'm the mom so I should be able to do this! So then I remember that we live literally next door to a firestation so I figure if anyone knows how to open a door it has to be them! So I run over and ask if there is any way they can help me get my daughter out of the room she's locked in. They were super nice and came over and helped me. They said it was jammed which makes me feel a little better cuz I probably couldn't have done it the way I was doing it. He had to use a knife to get it to unlock. So thank you Mr. Fireman! I felt totally stupid going over there but I'm glad that they were able to help me out! I did take cookies over later to thank them and apologize for my ignorance in mechanical things. :) Ever since then Shalise has been saying, "Guy, me out. Guy, where guy?" He's probably her little hero now, it's cute how she keeps asking where he went and knows that he got her out. Oh there is a cute Carson part to this story though. I was telling him about this on his way home from school and of course he had to know every detail, you called the fireman? And he walked over? And he used his knife? And what did he do with the knife? And I told him that they cannot lock doors anymore, they need to be really careful cuz it made mom scared and Carson says, "Mom I sorry that happened. If I was home, I would help you open door. I can use Daddy's knife to help you." The crazy thing is that had he been home, there's a good chance he would have figured it out instead of me, his mind works a lot better that way than mine! So that was my eventful morning....

Farm Country

We went to Farm Country today at Thanksgiving Point. We've only been twice, but my kids love it! They love to look at all the animals and they like to go on the Horse drawn wagon ride, even Marcus!! Amazing, something he actually likes! We went with some of our new neighbors and had a great time!

Carson helps and Carson mischief...

Carson, Carson... So the kids were at the babysitter the other day (they go to this lady in our neighborhood that does Daycare out of her home) and I guess one of the Dad's came to pick up his son and was telling him they had to go because they needed to do concrete or something in their basement. The little kid starts crying saying he doesn't want to do that and doesn't want to leave. Then I guess Carson pipes up saying, "I want to go help do concrete, I can come help, can I go?" The babysitter said it was pretty funny. I'm just surprised Carson didn't get out the door and into the guys car as I'm sure he wanted to!
Then the mischief came later. Jake took the kids home and took Marcus and Shalise inside and told Carson to stay in truck and he'd come get him. The doors are child locked, so technically he's not supposed to be able to get out, ya right... When he came back out to get Carson, he realized he was no longer in the backseat of the truck. He had opened the back window and climbed out and was sitting on top of the back of the truck just laughing cuz Jake couldn't reach him. I guess a couple neighbors saw him and got a good chuckle out of it. Carson certainly lives by the words "If there's a will, there's a way!!"

Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween this year! It was a busy week with trunk-or-treats, family dinners, school parties and of course Trick-or-treating! Here are some pictures from my company's trunk-or-treat that we went to, Carson was a transformer, Marcus was Wubzy and Shalise was Batgirl. They all picked out their own costumes and it was fun to see who they wanted to be!

For Trick-or-treating, we went down to Spanish Fork to go with the family. The kids had so much fun going with their cousins and it was so nice to have good weather! Shalise loved going up to the doors too. We tried to start skipping every other house with her because she took so much longer than the boys, but she figured out pretty quick what we were doing and put an end to that! How dare we trick her out of any more candy! :)
Love the eyes in this picture, not sure what she was so not pleased about but it must have been something big to get the eye rolling look!

Thanks Heather for letting us come down to spend Halloween with your family, we had such a great time!!
