Just your typical Friday...

This is how my morning went on Friday: take Carson to preschool, take Shalise to the doctor for moderate dehydration, pack for the cabin, wash and dry my hair in like 5 minutes, do the dishes, pick up Carson from school, take Shalise to the hospital for an IV (thank you to my mom for watching the boys for me so I could take her!), come home, pack the truck, leave for the cabin...
It was a busy morning to say the least! Shalise had been sick all week but was still eating and drinking ok. After she threw up Friday morning she was done with food and water, she wouldn't drink anything so I took her to the doctor. He said she was moderately dehydrated and that I should try for a couple more hours to get her to drink something and if she still wouldn't, then I should take her to the ER. So I kept pushing the liquids and she kept throwing her cup back at me. It was so sad, she laid on the floor all morning and wouldn't budge, she was very lethargic. Here is a picture of her, and all the toys are from Marcus. He was so cute, he kept bringing her toys to make her feel better. He was so concerned about her.
Shalise cried for a while after the put the IV in at the hospital but then fell asleep for the rest of the time we were there, which was great! After we got home, she perked up a lot and I could tell she was feeling better. We loaded up in the truck and headed to the cabin. We got there around dinnertime, ate and got the kids to bed. The next day Jake's brother met us at the cabin with his girls. We all went on a long ride and the kids had a lot of fun playing together. What a fun trip!

The "Beach"

About a month ago, a friend of mine told me about this beach nearby so we decided to check it out. By "beach" in Utah that just means retention pond with sand on one side. :) We have been a couple time now and the kids have really enjoyed it! I've brought dump trucks for the boys and the will play with them in the water and the sand for hours! They love it! Shalise pretty much just hangs out with me. She'll get in the water if she's in a floatie but likes to play in the sand and eat snacks. And don't worry, if you're there and you have something Carson wants to play with, the kid has no problem asking other people to use their stuff! Ya the sprayer thing he's playing with below, not ours... I guess at least he asks but the little boy needs to learn boundries! :) But it's been a great place to go this summer and hopefully we'll get in a couple more times before the weather gets colder!

Happy Birthday Carson!

We celebrated Carson's birthday on Sunday with my family. He got to open his presents and have cake and ice cream. He loved all the presents he got and wore the backpack his grandparents gave him all over. He even had it on while he ate his dinner, complete with his toys inside it. :) He was so excited to use it for school the next day.
Sadly he was up all night throwing up and was still sick in the morning and could not go to Preschool. He cried and cried and cried all morning, he was so sad to not be able to go. He gave me all kinds of "reasons" why he should be able to go: "Mom, I won't throw up, I promise!", "Mom, I'm just so excited to go to Preschool.", "Mom, I'm all better now!" It was the saddest thing ever but what can you do. On the morning of his birthday, this is how it started out:
He was still not feeling too great. But by mid-morning, he jumped off the chair and said he was feeling all better and played with his toys. I was so glad that he seemed much better. That afternoon I took him to go buy a toy with the money Nana & Gramps had given him for ToysRus. He was so funny to watch, he looked at all the toys and pushed the buttons and wanted to see what they all did. He tried to convince me to buy him this:
Or this:
He informed me, "it's not too expensive Mom, I just want it, it would be so fun for me." Yes, I'm sure it would be and I would be totally broke! So after we spent LOTS of time looking at toys that were more along the lines of how much money he had, this is what he chose:
He absolutely loves it can you tell? After that we took him to Jungle Jim's with our little family to celebrate his birthday. He had so much fun! Actually I don't know who was more excited, him or Shalise! She went on all the rides with him and they had the biggest smiles on their faces the whole time. Marcus kept saying "No rides Mom, okay!" so he pretty much just walked around and looked at things. He did eventually play with some slides a little bit. But it was a great place to go, the kids all had a lot of fun!
Here is Carson with his birthday "loot":
Happy Birthday Carson, we love you!!
