Lexie's Wedding

We went to Lexie's wedding in Bountiful last week.  She is the first cousin to get married, the kids were so excited to go to the wedding and reception. Nana and Gramps also were in town for the wedding so we spent a lot of time with family and cousins over those 3 days. The kids got to play at Heather's house while the adults went to dinner one night and then Nana and Gramps came for lunch one day to our house and we also got to have a BBQ at Nana and Gramps house with all the cousins. It sure was fun!

First Day of School

The kids had their first day of school on August 12th. They started at a new school, LakeView Academy. I got a  job there as a teacher for Elementary Spanish so the kids got into the school. It's a charter school that goes through 9th grade so we are really excited to be there! We celebrated the first day of school by going to the Curiosity Museum at Thanksgiving Point after school and then eating dinner at Costa Vida. The kids are adjusting to the new school really well, I am so proud of them.

Cowabunga Bay Summer

We got passes to Cowabunga Bay this summer and the kids have loved it. We even ran into Dad's friend Seth Storms one time we were there.  Marcus also finally lost his other front tooth so now I have 2 kids with no front teeth! We are sad that summer is ending because we love to go swimming!

Marcus First Ballroom Competition

Marcus has been taking Ballroom classes with a partner and has had so much fun learning it.  He competed with his partner at BYU. They didn't make it very far but he had a lot of fun. I also ran into an old roommate, her and I were on the Ballroom Team together. She was there watching her daughter compete. It was fun to see her and to spend the afternoon with Marcus!

Happy Birthday Carson!!

I can't believe Carson is 9 years old! He is getting so big! He had a great birthday eating cake, going to Nickelcade and eating dinner at Cafe Rio. I had to work on his birthday so he also got to go with Nona to Jump On It with Marcus and Shalise and his cousin Caden. He had a great time and we had fun celebrating his birthday, we love him!

New Car

After years of driving around the Honda Pilot, we finally broke down and bought a van. I never thought I would get a van but I secretly love it... :) It's a brand new Toyota Sienna and has a TV in it and touch screen and just lots of nice new things in it. Automatic doors, huge trunk space... Oh we love the van...

A Day at the "Beach"

My friend Emily and I took our kids to a reservoir in American Fork to swim and play in the sand. And by sand we mean mostly gravel... but the kids really enjoyed it and had so much fun playing with their friends. They floated around on rafts and swam and dug in the sand. It was a really fun afternoon.

Cabella's Catch a Fish Day

We were at Cabellas a little while back and they were having a Catch a Fish event. They gave all the kids a bag and let them try and catch fish that they let out. I wish I had more pictures. The kids all caught some and thought it was the funnest thing ever! We did have to give the fish away to other people since we weren't going to be taking them home to cook them up. :)

Rockets

Jake bought the kids a rocket to go shoot off at the park. We have been over there a couple times to shoot the rocket off. Carson especially thought this was pretty awesome!

Summer Cleaning

When we got back from Kentucky we did some serious bedroom cleaning! I can't believe all the junk and toys they have accumulated in their rooms! Actually Marcus keeps his room pretty clean so I couldn't even take a messy picture of his! But Carson and Shalise's were quite the project!

Kentucky Summer

I took the kids out this summer to see Britta and the girls. It was the first time the kids had been on a plane and they were so excited to fly! Carson even got to go into the cockpit and meet the pilot. He thought it was awesome! And to say my kids had a good time in Kentucky would be an understatement! That is all they have talked about since we got home! We had so much fun there with the cousins. The kids played and played and played some more. They even did their own "Frozen" play that they performed for Britta and I. It was really cute.
Britta had a pass to the Y, the local pool and we went there several times. The kids all love to swim so they really enjoyed being there and being able to swim with their cousins. They took a lot of cute pictures there, fun poses with their cousins. Britta had the sister missionaries over for dinner one night and I realized that one of them lives really close to my neighborhood at home, small world!
We also spent a lot of time in Cincinnati. It's pretty close to where Britta lives. We went to a really cool park there and walked on the Purple People Bridge which crosses from Ohio to Kentucky. It is absolutely beautiful there. I loved being able to drive around and see it. We also went to the Cincinnati Museums. There are 3 all in one so we spent all day there. They had a museum of Natural History, a Children's Museum and the Cincinnati History Museum. There were lots and lots of cool things to see there. We also saw an IMAX movie about Lemurs that the kids really enjoyed.
We spent another day there at Coney Island in Cincinnati. It is an amusement park and waterpark all in one. The kids had so much fun on the rides and the swimming pool was amazing! It had waterslides and diving boards and was just huge. The kids loved it. We spent the whole day there going on rides and swimming and having lots and lots of fun!
The last day we were there we went to the Cincinnati Zoo which was amazing. It is HUGE! The kids have never been to a Zoo so I am glad their first time was this one. There were so many cool things to see. They got to pet turtles and there was a goat petting zoo that they could brush the hair of the goats. They had a bird show that was really cool and hula hooping and lots lots more. The kids really enjoyed the day there. It was hard to leave and come home after having so much fun there! We hope we can go out and see her again and the kids can play together, the cousins sure enjoyed eachother and I had so much fun hanging out with Britta!
