Spring Break

Well Spring Break went by pretty fast for the kids. For me it was kindof a blur since I was recovering from the concussion. I wanted to take the kids to a lot more things but I just didn't feel up to it. The first day of Spring Break we were in Moab, Tuesday we went to Heidi's house for the kids to play with their cousins. It was a really nice day so they jumped on the tramp with the sprinklers. We were there for a couple hours and the kids had a lot of fun. And it was nice for me to just sit and watch the kids and not have to do much. Wednesday we spent the day at the park with some friends, that was nice for me too to not have to do too much. I just sat and watched them play and relaxed. Thursday was colder weather so we did an Artic Circle day with some friends. Then Friday we went with some friends to the Herriman Rec Center. Jake got me some free swimming passes so I took the kids and some of their friends and they had a great time swimming! The two little ones have gotten so much more comfortable in the water and Carson had a lot of fun going off the diving board! So it wasn't quite the week we planned but the kids still had fun. And I was really proud of the kids for fending for themselves this week a little more than normal. I didn't get out of bed until after 9am every morning and they got pretty good at getting themselves going on breakfast and stuff. Actually I am pretty sure Shalise got the boys their breakfast. She is my independant one that does everything by herself, Carson is the helpless one that just yells for things til someone does it, usually Shalise. :) But the kids were pretty good to let me rest and just play. My house is kindof a mess but I can clean that later... Now all the kids are back in school and Spring Break made me a little excited for summer, so I can't wait until school gets out! :)

MOAB 2012

We sure had a fun time in Moab this year again! Here is kindof what we did:

DAY ONE: We got to Moab just before dinnertime. It was perfect because we had time to get the trailer all set up while the kids played outside. Then they had dinner and were really excited to get into their sleeping bags and sleep in the trailer.

DAY TWO: The kids were up bright and early this day, I think the kids were excited to be there or something! The kids spent a lot of the day playing outside riding little battery operated hummers/jeeps and playing with all the kids. Carson got to ride our friend's motorcycle with training wheels and couldn't get enough of it! Marcus enjoyed playing in the dirt with some other little boys and Shalise loved having all the little girls to play with. They did crafts, coloring and played with their girly toys. We did go on a ride this day too and explored some caves and we all had a great time! This was the coolest day there, but it was still like 66 degrees. This is the night too that our heater went out in the middle of the night so when we woke up the next morning it was like 47 degrees in our trailer! The good thing is the kids all slept in, probably because they were too cold to get up!

DAY THREE: Saturday was such a nice day. We went on a long ride with all our friends that was really fun. The kids also got to dye Easter Eggs, which they have actually never done before. We are always in Moab for Easter and they have always been so young that it seemed like too much work! Marcus really spent a lot of time on his getting them just right! Shalise spent a lot of time with the girls in front of our trailer doing crafts and Carson was either playing in the dirt or begging to ride the motorcycle! This night was also a little crazy. We had to run the generator all night to run our space heaters to keep warm. We think we got some exposure from the fumes because I woke up in the middle of the night and felt really nauseated. I went to go throw up in the bathroom and don't remember anything else until Jake came in. Jake asked if I was ok and I said yes and he asked why I was on the floor and I said, I have no idea! Apparently I had passed out. I hit my head pretty hard in the shower and had a really hard time sitting up and stuff. Jake threw up shortly after and so did Carson. So we opened windows and turned off the generator and after a few hours the sick thing went away, but needles to say it was a long night!

DAY FOUR: Everyone went to church in the morning and we sent the kids out to play. Jake and I stayed in the trailer for a while til Jake didn't feel sick. I had a really hard time sitting or standing for most of the day so good thing it was Sunday and we didn't do much that day. My friend's little 12 year old did the Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. They kept asking when I was going to do it and I told them I couldn't even stand up let alone hide eggs! She was really cute to do the hunt for them, she even took a bunch of pictures for me! The kids also got their stuff from the Easter bunny so that helped to keep them busy too. Carson got a new black basketball, a monster truck and an angry birds t-shirt, Marcus got a Mario bros t-shirt, a superhero cape and mask, and some coloring books and puzzles, Shalise got a Hello Kitty t-shirt, a Snow White barbie, some lipgloss and some coloring books and puzzles. It was a nice relaxing day and oh ya, like 80 degrees!

DAY FIVE: This was our last day and it sure was great weather, around 88 degrees! We spent the entire day outside enjoying the great weather. I had a hard time doing much still because of the head injury so mostly I sat outside and watched the kids. Jake spent the morning cleaning the trailer up so we'd be ready to go and then we went on a ride later that afternoon that was really fun. I probably should not have gone with the head injury, but it's a really fun trail and I didn't want to miss out! And yes, I did pay for it the next day with a little extra neck pain... We didn't end up leaving til about 8:30pm! We showered the kids, put on their PJ's and put them in the truck, they were asleep within minutes of leaving. We got home around 12:30am and didn't got to bed til almost 3am! Jake had to clean the trailer to take it back the next morning and I spent that time putting things away. It took me a lot longer because my head hurt so bad and I had the whiplash type pain my neck. I did end up going to the doctor when we got home, they sent me to the ER to do a CT scan. They said that I have a concussion but nothing too severe. They said I could feel like this (dizzy, off balance and the neckpain and headache) for a couple weeks and told me I can't exercise for probably a couple months, fun for me! So Moab was really fun, even with the concussion, and we can't wait to go again next year! :)
