Summer Fun

Our summer is off to a great start! We have had so much fun playing outside and enjoying time with cousins and neighbors. The kids beg to go swimming every day and lucky for us we have a splash park right behind our house! The boys are fortunate to have so many cousins and friends their age to play with. We are so glad for the warm weather, finally!!

Sunny Days

We love the sunny warm weather! Carson loves to have friends over to play in the water and eat popsicles. It's so nice that it is finally warm enough to do that!

St George

We went to St George this last weekend for a few days for a family reunion. My sister Tashina and her husband (Tim) and son (Dante) and my brother Darvell and us all stayed in a condo down there. Darvell has a membership at the condo and it was great, thanks Darvell for letting us stay there with you!! It was REALLY hot, so much different than the weather has been here, and SO much fun! We spent two of the days at a Reservoir called Sand Hollow. There were fun places to ride the 4wheelers and Rhino and a lake that the kids loved playing in. I have pictures below, they are really small but you can click on any of them for a larger view. :)
There were also some really fun trails by the condo that we stayed at. We spent a lot of time riding there as well. It made it all worth it to hear the little squeals and giggles from the boys in the back seat. The loved it!! There is also a picture of Tim with a turtle that he found on one of our rides.

On one of the days after Jake and I went for a ride with the boys, we were SO hot that we decided swimsuits were too much work and we decided to just all jump in the pool at the Condo with all our clothes on. It felt SO good!! I'm sure the onlookers thought we were all nuts...

It was such a fun vacation and we're so glad we went. The kids all did really well and it was definitely a vacation we will have to do again!!

Locked in...

So this morning I was in Shalise's room changing Marcus's diaper with Carson running all over the place, a pretty normal morning. Then Carson shuts the door and starts whining that he wants to come in, so I tell him, well open the door and come in. As the whining continues I start to realize that he can't come in because he has locked the door, from the outside. You may be asking why the door locks from the outside, well I am asking myself the same question at that very moment! Fabulous... I try to tell Carson how to unlock it and after several minutes with no success, I figure it's time for a new plan. I thought about climbing out the window to go around, but I could just picture Marcus tumbling out after me, so I decide I'll just have Carson get my phone, then I can call my neighbor to come open the door. Easy plan...
So I tell him to go to the kitchen counter and get mommy's phone. I hear his little feet run across the house and can hear him in the kitchen. Then I hear him say, "mommy, I want to get down". He's really good at climbing up on things, but gets nervous getting down by himself, so I can picture him sitting on the counter waiting for me to get him down. Which of course I can't because I am locked in the bedroom! So he whines and keeps asking me for help and I keep trying to talk him into climbing down on his own. This goes on for about 10 or 15 minutes, it seems like forever... Then I finally hear him running back to the room and ask him to slide the phone under the door for me, which he does. Then just as I am calling a neighbor to come rescue me, he finally gets the lock undone and opens the door with a big "hi mommy!". So that was our adventure this morning. After it was all said and done I really had to give the kid props. He did exactly what I asked him to do, even though it took a LONG time, and he must've conquered his fear of climbing down because he did manage to get off the counter on his own. All in a days work...
