First Day of Second Grade

Carson started 2nd grade today. He was very excited! I can't believe how grown up he looks in this picture, he is getting so big!

5 Pools in 6 Days!

For the last week of summer we decided we needed to party before school started! We went to 5 different pools in 6 days. We went to Classic Skating for our first pool. We had passes to skate and do everything there as well as do the waterslides. Then we went to Cowabunga Bay for the second pool. Hopefully we can make it one more time before the season ends! The next one we went to was the Herriman Rec Center with some friends. The kids had lots of fun and it was nice to be in an inside pool instead of out in the sun! The next day we went to a neighborhood pool in the Ranches. I was watching my friend's daughter and she has a key to that pool so she brought it for us to all go swimming. The last pool we went to Saturday was our Ward Party. It was a Luau at the Lehi Pool. Dinner was really good and they had a little luau show and then our ward got the pool for two hours after that. The kids had a lot of fun swimming. Carson loved the diving boards and doing all his tricks. Marcus really liked the waterslide and Shalise just swam around with her little friends. So it was definitely a great end to a great summer!!

Battery Charged

They other day Carson and I were talking about what happens to our bodies and spirits when we die. (A little girl from our old neighborhood just passed away last week, she drowned at a local reservoir.) So I told him that our bodies stay here to be buried and our spirits go to heaven. And he said, Oh! So it's like a remote control. Like if your battery is charged then it works but if it's not charged then it's dead. I laughed and said yes, kindof. And he said, Well Mom I am going to make sure that my battery is always charged 100%!

Summer Reading

At the beginning of the summer the kids signed up for a reading program at the Library. They read all summer so they got to go to a special party. A guy from Dominos Pizza was there to show the kids how to make pizzas, then he had a few kids come up and try it. Marcus was picked to try it out and did a great job! They got to eat pizza after that and then they gave them a bunch of coupons for like free Ice Cream etc. Shalise also wanted to take her picture with Miss Saratoga Springs who was also there. :)

American Fork Pool

We went to the American Fork pool the other day with some cousins. We've been twice in the last couple weeks because the kids like it so much! Carson was doing flips off the diving board and even wanted to try a backflip, I think I talked him out of it, for now... It freaks me out! I can't believe he has taught himself how to do all those things off the diving board. The other kids love the pool area and the big waterslide that they have. It is a fun pool!

Dinosaur Museum

Thanksgiving Point has their $2 Tuesdays this month so we thought we would take advantage of it and go to the Dinosaur Museum. We haven't been for quite a while and it was nice to take the kids now that they are a little older. They liked it a lot, it was a fun day!

Two Front Teeth

Carson lost both his front teeth this summer. I think it makes him look so grown up! So I think all he's going to want for Christmas is his two front teeth... :)

Cabin Trip

We went to the cabin over the weekend. It also happened to be Carson's birthday so he was very excited that we got to be at his favorite place for his birthday! We went up Friday and did a little riding. Saturday he got to open his presents and then we went to Causey Reservoir to paddle around in a canoe that Jake had borrowed. Marcus and Shalise did not like the way the canoe rocked and it took a while to get used to. Carson did get in and try out his new snorkel and fins that Nana and Gramps gave him. He loved it but didn't swim long cuz it was COLD! Shalise got in with me too but Marcus wanted nothing to do with it! Later that night we went into town to a restaurant for dinner to celebrate Carson's birthday. He got his favorite, chicken nuggets, carrots with ranch and vanilla ice cream! It was a fun trip and nice to spend some time with the family at the cabin! :)
