San Diego Vacation

Well we sure had a fun time with Jake's parents in San Diego! The weather was great and we did lots of fun things. We went to an aquarium, some little carnival rides, the beach, the pool, a park, on a picnic, we flew a kite, went to an indoor kids play area, on walks up and down the boardwalk and we had fun hanging out with Nana & Gramps. The kids did really well on the drive. They had their moments but it actually went better than we expected. Thank goodness for DVD players is all I can say! The kids really liked the pool the best so we did that almost every day. Of course Marcus had to have a lifejacket and a floatie before he felt comfortable! He is always a little nervous with new things. Nana did get him to go on the carousel finally but as you can see in the picture below, he is holding on for dear life! The only one that really liked the ocean was Carson. Even after a little mishap of going totally under the water, he still wanted to go back! The other two kids didn't mind playing in the sand but wanted nothing to do with the water! It was really nice to be in California and we are sad that we had to come back. Thanks Nana and Gramps for inviting us on a fun vacation!! And I do get a little camera happy, so there are LOTS of pictures!! :)

The cast is off!

I took Carson up to Primary Children's today to get his cast off. They took X-rays and said everything looks great! Carson was a little nervous when they cut it off, he didn't like the little saw they use. But once the nurse was done Carson said, oh thanks!! And then he literally started jumping up and down and screaming, he was so excited! I had to take a picture cuz it was so funny! The nurse asked if he wanted to keep his cast and he said, no that's yucky and he picked it up and threw it away. Don't blame him, I wouldn't want to keep it either! Here's another picture, his last picture with his cast right before they took it off:

Splash Park Fun

I love the splashpark behind our house. We've been a few times this year already, before all the rain... I hadn't had a chance to put the pictures up yet. Marcus actually likes the water this year so it's been fun to see him run around and enjoy himself instead of walking around the perimeter avoiding the water like the plague! Carson was very excited to be able to wrap his cast up so he could go swimming. It worked great and kept his cast dry! And Shalise pretty much just sat in the stroller and watched.
And how many kids can you fit on a stroller? Well three when you have to! When we were all done neither of the boys wanted to walk home so they found themselves a spot on the stroller. Shalise just giggled and laughed the whole way home, she thought it was great!

She Walks, Finally!!

Shalise has been taking a couple steps here and there the last week or so but today decided to start walking around more. It's so exciting to see her walking, I don't know who is more excited, me or Carson! Every time she walks Carson starts cheering and says "Mom! She's walking!" or "Good job Shalise!" It's so fun to see her walk! :)

End of Tee Ball Season

Carson's Tee Ball season just ended. Their last game was cancelled due to the rain earlier that afternoon but the team still went to get their little trophies and pictures. The coach had them all bat one last time and then had ice cream for all of the kids. Carson really enjoyed playing, broken elbow and all! He actually was getting pretty good at hitting the ball with his cast on! It was sure fun to watch him play so I'll miss going to his games, but I won't miss the crazy schedule that's for sure!
