Stitches

Well I knew this day would come sooner or later with two little toddlers running around with no sense of fear. Marcus was outside today riding his little trike and went off of our cement patio onto the gravel. He couldn't keep up with the little trike and went over the top of it head first into the gravel. I saw him do it and didn't know he was bleeding until I went to go pick him up. I saw all the bloody rocks first and then as I turned him over, he had blood running all down his face. I got him inside and washed everywhere I saw blood until I could figure out where it was coming from. He had a little hole in his forehead that bled and bled and bled... I took him to the urgent care where me and two other nurses had to hold him down while the doctor stitched him up. He screamed bloody murder for what seemed like forever. When it was all said and done, all he got was 2 little stitches. So he's good to go now and hopefully we don't have to go do that again anytime soon! Pictures to come...

Swingset

These are some pictures of the swingset/slide playground that Jake built for our backyard. This is going to be so great this summer, the kids and I already have spent many hours playing on it! Jake did such a great job, he never ceases to amaze me with all the handy things he can do. :)

Mom's Hair...

So during the kids naps today I decided to take a quick shower and actually do something to my hair instead of the daily ponytail. This rarely happens... So as I go to get Carson out of his room after his nap, he looks at me and says, "You do hair mommy?" Nice that my 2 year old notices that I never do my hair... :)

The Favorite...

Everytime Marcus sees Jake, he yells at the top of his lungs "Hi Dad!!" Then when he sees me he also yells at the top of his lungs "Hi Dad!!" Hmmm, I wonder who the favorite is ... :)

The Three Kids

I realized the other day that I have hardly any pictures of me with any of the kids because I am always the one taking the pictures! So I had my sister take one of me with the three kids and I am making a New Year's resolution (yes in May...) to have people take pictures for me so then my kids will be able to see that I really was around when they were little. They weren't homeless children raising themselves... :)

He Walks!!

Finally!! It's a big day in our house, at 18 months old Marcus has finally decided that he wants to walk! He took his first steps last night for Jake while I was at work. Jake said it was so funny because he took a few steps, turned around and walked back. Then he fell over and stood himself back up. That's sure a lot of tricks for just starting out! Makes me wonder how long the kid has probably been able to do it and just didn't want to! We are so proud of him and excited that he is finally walking!! Here is a video clip from today:

Thanks Britta & Ronda!

A few weeks ago my sister-in-law, Britta, gave Shalise some cute little outfits and I just love them! And of course new outfits means new bows. So I took the new outfits over for my neighbor, Ronda, to make me some cute bows to match. So I added them to my ever growing bow obsession... I keep taking new clothes over to Ronda so she can make me more! The outfits & bows look so cute on Shalise. Here are some pictures:

Thanks Britta & Ronda!!

Remote Control Carson

Jake pulled out the remote control truck the other day and took Carson out to play with it. This is like a dream come true for Carson. He loves trucks and cars and this one ran by itself! Carson ran around chasing it, he loved it!!

Better than a teddy bear...

My boys have decided that Shalise is way better than a teddy bear. When they sit down to watch TV, they both want to have Shalise sit next to them. It's so cute that they want to hold her and have her next to them while they sit on their little chairs and watch TV.

No Hands!

Marcus has started standing on his own the last couple of weeks. We've been trying to encourage him to do it more, so we've been telling him to do "no hands" so he will let go of things. He thinks it is hillarious but then will quickly grab back on. He is so close to walking now, I'm sure it won't be too long before he is running around with his brother!
