She Crawls!

So I was on the phone today and I look up and see Shalise up on all fours just crawling across the room! She's also been going from her stomach to sitting the last couple weeks and she's cute cuz sometimes she'll stop halfway and just hang out. She's also been able to get around for a while either rolling or army crawling, scooting, turning in circles... but today is the first time I've seen her actually crawl. Then like 2 hours later I look over and she's up on her knees opening a cupboard and trying to stand up! I guess that crawling thing is nothing and she's going to just move past that and stand up too. Who knows maybe tomorrow she'll decide to try walking... :) So I'm really excited for this big milestone for Shalise, it's so cute to see her crawling and the look of satisfaction on their face makes it all worth it. Although that means I now have 3 mobile children under 3... I see a lot of exercise in my future... :)

Sledding At Soldier Hollow

My work had their "Christmas party" over the weekend at Soldier Hollow. We usually celebrate in January when things are less hectic. They had tubing and then dinner. When we got there originally we had planned to let our kids just tube on the bunny hill that the place had advertised until we realized it was pretty much non existent. So then I decided to try out the big hill with Carson. We got our tubes and they have a line that pulls you up which is great cuz you don't have to walk and then you go down the hill. This particular time Carson and I did not have the slick things you put under the tubes so we went down REALLY slow... I pretty much pushed Carson the whole way down. So after we got down and I was completely exhausted from pushing him down, I told Jake that Marcus was probably fine going down too seeing how it was so slow and all... Then we saw people with babies sitting in these cute little baby tubes. So we put Shalise in one to see how she liked it. She LOVED it. She just smiled and smiled and kicked her little foot up and down and was so happy. So we decided to head up the hill and try it with all the kids. They don't let kids go on your laps but you can hold their tubes when you go down, so Jake and I held on to all the kids and we all went down together. It was so much fun! I was little nervous taking such young kids to do this but it turned out great. The kids absolutely loved it and kept saying, Again, again!! For them I guess what's not to love, sitting in a tube with someone pulling you around everwhere, just kicking back and enjoying the ride. :) Jake and I on the other hand were completely exhausted when we got home from hauling 5 tubes and 3 kids around, talk about a great workout!! It was so nice of my work to take all of us and I think it's something we will definitely do again, we had a great time!

Swings in the Workshop

These pictures were taken a little while ago but it was pretty funny so I wanted to post it. Jake was out with the boys one Saturday. The boys were supposedly going to play in the snow while Jake worked on some projects in his workshop. When I came out with Shalise to check on the kids and play in the snow, this is what I saw:
I guess the kids didn't want to play in the snow as much as be right with their dad so Jake decided to hang our swings in the garage so the kids could swing while he worked and then they couldn't get into any of the sharp saws and things that Jake was working with. What a great idea, who says you can't swing in the middle of the winter? Good thinking Jake!! :)

The Kids

I think this are the first pictures of all three kids that I was able to get without making them all squish in a chair and hoping they didn't move before I took it! Probably because it was Carson's idea and not mine. The boys were wrestling on the floor today which was SO funny, they were just giggling and giggling. Then Carson told me "take a picture mom!" So I did... Then he wanted Shalise in the picture too so I took the opportunity to get some of all three of them and I love how you can totally see Marcus's tonsils cuz he has such a big cheesy smile! Here are some cute pictures from today:

More Bedtime Mischief...

The last couple of nights, Jake and I have been putting Marcus in the playpen in Carson's room. Marcus hasn't really liked going straight to his new room so we've decided to let him fall asleep in Carson's room and then we take him down to his room. So later in the evening we go to get Marcus and we find Carson and Marcus both asleep in the playpen! It was actually pretty cute. It's nice to know that after all the fighting during the day between the two of them that at the end of the day they really do like eachother. :) These are from the last few nights:

Marcus Bedtime Mischief

Marcus has recently figured out how to get out of his playpen. So the night he figured it out, he spent the ENTIRE night coming out probably every half hour or so. I guess the only good news from this is that now we can make him sleep in his bed (that he hasn't loved) since the playpen doesn't keep him in anyway... So we decided we needed to put him downstairs in his own room so he wouldn't wake Carson up all night and Jake flipped the lock so we can lock him in and he won't come out. So the next night he cried for a little while but then was quiet so we figured we'd solved his sleeping problems since he went to sleep. I went in the next morning and he had completely stripped out of his pajamas and diaper and had peed all over the floor, fantastic... He did this the following day for his nap as well. So now we have to safety pin the top of his pajamas so he can't unzip them and for naps I have to put a belt on him so he can't take off his pants. So now that we have those two problems solved, today during his nap he decided to tip over a basket that I had in there blocking the closet and pulled out coats and blankets and every single thing that was in that closet and put most of it in his playpen. So I guess next I need to clear absolutely everything out of the closet and get rid of anything that may distract him so he has nothing to play with. Although at the rate he is going, I have a feeling it's always going to be one thing after another with him. Little mischevious night boy what can we say...
