Where Did My Baby Go?

My little baby is not so little anymore. I can't believe how big she is getting! The little tiny baby is no more, now she finally has some meat on her and is getting a little chubby! I love it!! We are getting excited to finalize her adoption at the end of next month. She is so good natured and such a fun baby with all her giggles and smiles, we all love her!!

Potty Training

So we are about a week and half into potty training with Carson, and I have to say he is actually catching on quick and doing a great job. I'm so proud of him. So far it has gone a lot better than I expected it to go. We have our good days and bad days but overall, he is doing really well. Interestingly he doesn't care so much about getting treats as he does just having me praise him and getting really excited. So it's great that he isn't on a total sugar high every night when he goes to bed! I feel like I haven't done anything or talked to anyone for a while because I spend the entire day taking him to the potty! And apparently it is all about the underwear, as long as he has underwear on that he picked out and is in some kind of character that he likes, then he does great. I made the mistake of getting him some that weren't "Carson approved" and that did not go over so well... So here are some pictures of the stickers on the wall he gets every time he goes, and of course the underwear (and don't laugh at his total farmer's tan!)
He has also made some pretty funny remarks through this process that I wanted to post so that I can tell him later that, yes, he really said that. :)
The first time he was trying to go potty, nothing was happening and he looked at me and said "Mommy, it's broken!"
Another time he was having similar problems he shrugged and said "Mommy, it's locked."
One time when he was going number 2 in the toilet he told me "The poop are going swimming in the water! I want to go swimming too!"
And then after he had an accident one day, I asked him what happened and he told me "It spilled!"
The funny things that kids say...

Family Reunion

We had a family reunion over the weekend with Jake's family and went to his uncle's house. It has a pool and to Carson's delight, lots of little motorized 4wheelers. I think he spent the entire afternoon out there playing on them. Here are pictures of Marcus and Carson enjoying the reunion:

Here is a video clip of Carson riding one of the little 4wheelers:

And maybe one day I will be able to join this "girls circle" and sit and chit chat. But I think it will be a couple years of Jake and I chasing kids around before that happens. :)

First Pig Tails

As I was looking at Shalise's crazy hair that sticks straight up, I started thinking she needs a new look and need to get it under control! So I went out and bought some hair ties and clips and ta-da, here are her first pig tails:

Cousins

I went with my sister and sister-in-laws on Saturday to get pictures taken of the grandkids for my mom's birthday. We've had really bad experiences taking these in the past, but decided to try Kiddie Kandids which was way better than other places we've tried in the past. They are more expensive, but worth it. Needless to say, it was an interesting experience with 8 kids, 7 of them under the age of 4. But they actually did pretty well and it's amazing we got a picture with all of them looking at the camera. This is the unedited version they had online, here is the best one:
Back Row: Marcus, Taige, Caden, Kai and Carson
Front Bench: Shalise, Dante and Peyton

Cabin Weekend

We spent the 4th of July weekend at the cabin and had a great time. We went up by ourselves for the first part of it and then our neighbors joined us at the end. We're glad they were able to come and enjoy the great outdoors with us. We spent a lot of time riding the 4wheelers, which of course is Carson's favorite. We also watched movies, played with the kids and Jake managed to squeeze in installing the new water heater. We did also see a moose, some deer and lots of sheep.
The kids rode so much that they even had "nap time" on the Rhino:

Here are a few more pictures:

Shoulders

Carson is obsessed with being on people's shoulders. And for some reason we indulge his craziness. The following are things that were his idea, he even got our neighbor to humor him on the bike. I think Marcus had the right idea in the picture below to be nervous, don't know why the rest of us weren't!
