Fractured Elbow

So we were at our ward party Saturday night and Carson was playing with a bunch of kids on the merry-go-round. It got going a little too fast for him and he couldn't hold on. He fell off and landed on his arm. He was in pain last night and then ended up falling asleep on the couch after we got home so we figured we'd wait till morning and see if it was any better. He woke up all night long, probably every time he laid on it and then woke up with the pain. This morning he was still really guarding it and wouldn't hold anything or lift his arm so we decided to take him in to the instacare. The doctor was examining his arm and he kept saying the funniest things. She asked him if he could bend it a certain way and after he did he said, "My arm's all better, it's not broken anymore!" Then the doctor asked him to touch a pen up in the air and he looks at her like, hello easy! And touches it with his good arm. When she asked him to touch it with his other arm he said, "I don't want to." After she finally got him to, she did another little test and asked him to do it and just shook his head and said, "I can't, my arm hurts." It was cute. He was a trooper and through it all has been a pretty tough kid. They did X-rays and determined there is a fracture in the elbow. I'm supposed to take him to Primary Children's in the next two days to their fracture clinic so a radiologist can look at the X-rays and a specialist for kid fractures can look at it. She said with most elbow fractures they usually don't do a cast because it takes away their range of motion later. So he'll probably have a splint and sling like he has now. Poor kid... I feel so bad for him! :(

Poor kid! Merry go Rounds scare me. We used to have one at my elementary school and I got pulled under it once as it went around. I remember being so scared! I'm glad he wasn't too traumatized and hope he heals fast!

Oh, so sorry about the arm. He is still so little to dill with that tylpe of injury. We know from experience elbows can be tricky. I hope all goes well at Primary Childrens. I hope you all can get some sleep and that there isn't much pain.

Wow, you guys aren't doing so well--broken toes, fractured elbows. Talk about accident magnets! But I guess these are the rough and tumble years, right? Hopefully you all make it through without permanent disfigurement!

Tough week for bones in your family...hopefully no one else breaks anything! Glad he's being such a trooper.
